Paws to Read {things to do}

reading practice for kids

Last week, my daughter participated in Paws to Read, a program held in public libraries around the country, where reading-age children practice reading to therapy dogs (aka friendly, non-judgmental ears).  She had a ten minute time slot, where she read to a registered therapy dog and also had some time to play.  It’s great for the child and the animal.  My daughter had the chance to practice reading out loud and also enjoyed her one-on-one time with her new canine friend.  I would recommend looking for this program for any child of reading age, animal lovers or not.
